Hunting Wild Dogs
It was 1988, Thomas was 12 years old, I had never hunted wild dogs before apart from being out on occasions many years before with a close friend of mine, who trapped wild dogs for a living. At that time Thomas and I Were both looking at a TV Program, where men were demonstrating their ability to imitate the way wild dogs howl in the bush. In fact it was a wild dog howling contest, and the best imitator won a price. I took one look at that program and said to Thomas: 'We can do That.' And that was the beginning of our Challenge to go out into the bush and call up wild dogs, We mastered it so well, calling up many dogs, ranging from one, to packs. It was then we decided to purchase a video camera and video our success. Since that time we have culled approximately 600 wild dogs in and around the area where we live, thus resulting in the production of three Dog videos on how we do it. At present we have only one current Dog Video available called "Hunting Wild Dogs". This video has been the pick of the three in my view. It is broadcast quality, and put together by Professionals. In this video I share the excitement of calling up a pack of 12 wild dogs right to my feet, even my hair stood up- what little I have. This pack was called up using a predator call, they did not respond to my howling. Some great footage. I also recapture highlights from previous wild dog hunts, and also demonstrate how we call them in. A 60 minutes action packed video or DVD, and has been purchased by many throughout Australia.
